What you get
Exactly what is included, and what is not

What the price covers
- A script written for youDrafted inside your cleared wording and signed off in writing before a camera comes out.
- 2 hook variationsTwo openings on the same body, built to run against each other in a live ad set rather than to look different.
- all three aspect ratios9:16, 4:5 and 1:1, so one order covers feed, vertical and square with no re-edit.
- a 12 month paid media licenceMeta, TikTok and Google, at any spend, for a full year from delivery.
- A claims read before filmingWe check the script against what you can evidence and say so if a line worries us.
- 7 working days deliveryFrom the day the product lands with us, with everything delivered in one drop.
Claims discipline
What we will and will not say on camera
Beauty is the most heavily policed category in UK advertising, and a video that gets an advert pulled costs considerably more than the video did. We work from your approved claims list rather than inventing outcomes.
- We film what the product doesTexture, application, finish and how it wears through a day. All of it observable on camera, none of it a promise about what will happen to somebody else's skin.
- We script inside your listSend the wording your team has already cleared and the script is written within it. If a line is not on the list it does not go in the video.
- We will not invent a resultNo cleared my acne in a week unless you hold the evidence and want it said. Unsupported performance claims are the fastest route to a complaint being upheld.
- We flag before filming, not afterIf a requested line reads like a medicinal claim rather than a cosmetic one, you hear about it while it is still cheap to change.
Hooks in beauty
The opening is a problem, not a product shot
In most categories the hook can be the item itself. In beauty the item is a tube, and a tube stops nobody. What stops the scroll is a recognisable problem, a texture, or a number. Two openings are written and filmed so the ad set has something to compare from week one.
- 1The problem open
Naming the concern in the first two seconds, in the words a customer would use rather than the words on the packaging. It self selects the audience, which is worth more in beauty than raw reach because the wrong viewer will never buy a serum for a concern they do not have.
- 2The texture open
Straight into the swatch. No face, no introduction, product moving on skin within the first second. It works because texture is the thing nobody can assess from a product photograph, and curiosity about it is almost involuntary.
- 3The reference open
Skin type, undertone and what else is being worn, said out loud at the start. Unglamorous and consistently effective, because a beauty buyer's first question is always whether this was filmed on skin anything like theirs.
Name the two angles you want tested in your brief, or both openings are proposed and approved before filming.
One face, stated honestly
What a single creator can and cannot show you
Every beauty video filmed by one person carries the same limitation, and most brands pretend otherwise. We would rather put it on the page, because a viewer who feels misled about shade or skin type does not come back.
- The skin type is said on cameraCombination, dry, sensitive, whatever it is on the day. A viewer with different skin can then weigh the demonstration properly instead of assuming it transfers.
- One shade is not a shade rangeIf the product comes in twenty shades, a video filmed in one of them evidences the formula, not the range. We will say which shade is worn and we will not imply coverage of the rest.
- Undertone is named, not impliedFoundation, concealer and colour correction only make sense against a stated undertone. Guessing at it in the edit is how a shade looks wrong on a phone that is not ours.
- When the honest answer is more than one videoA range built on inclusivity is not evidenced by a single creator, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a video that quietly undercuts the campaign it belongs to.
Where beauty ads get rejected
Written to be approved, not just to be watched
A beauty creative can be excellent and still never run. Platform review sits between the video and the audience, and it declines the same handful of things over and over.
- Before and after is restricted, not bannedMeta treats close-up transformation imagery as a personal attributes and idealised outcome problem. It is a real constraint on how a result can be shown, which is why that format sits on Premium where it is planned rather than improvised.
- Do not address the viewer's bodyCopy that implies knowledge of the viewer's skin, weight or age is the most common reason a beauty ad set is disapproved. The script is written in the first person about the creator instead.
- Health claims move the goalpostsThe moment a script sounds like it is treating a condition, the advert is being reviewed against a different and much stricter rulebook. That is the line we flag before filming.
- Both hooks are written to the same standardThere is no point testing an opening that will never be approved. Both are checked against the same constraints, so the test is real.
Platform policies change without notice. We write to reduce the risk of a rejection rather than to guarantee one cannot happen, and approval decisions are never ours to make.
The two things that cost the money
Raw footage and platform reach
Two rows separate this tier from Premium, and the licence term is not one of them. It is 12 months on both, so an upgrade is never about buying time.
Raw footage
The finished cut and both hooks. The unedited takes are not included and cannot be added after a shoot has been delivered.
- No unedited takes
- No re-cutting into fresh adverts later
- Included on Premium
- Decide before filming, not afterwards
Advertising rights
Organic use on your own channels plus paid media rights for 12 months from delivery. Across Meta, TikTok and Google, at any spend and any number of campaigns.
- Meta, meaning Facebook and Instagram
- TikTok and Google, including YouTube
- Any spend, any number of campaigns
- Not the platforms outside those three, which sit on Premium

Before you order
The terms, in plain English
The full terms and conditions govern every order. These are the seven that change what you should do next, so they are here rather than behind a link.
- We make content, we do not test productsVelena Lifestyle is an advertising agency, SIC 73110, and that is the whole of what the company does. We do not manufacture, formulate, source, test, certify or verify any product, and nothing in our process is a safety assessment, a regulatory review or claims substantiation. Responsibility for the product stays with the brand that places it on the market. Section 2.1.
- A full refund until filming startsIf we decline your brief, or you change your mind before we begin filming, you get everything back with no deduction and no fee. Once filming has begun there is no refund, because a shoot commits a real person's time and cannot be undone. Section 7.
- Some categories we decline outrightGambling, adult, cryptoasset and investment, political, tobacco and vaping, weapons, and prescription medicines. Alcohol, supplements, CBD, weight management, financial products and clinics are case by case. Tell us at enquiry rather than after paying. Section 6.
- Your product is used, not borrowedIt is opened, applied and filmed with, so assume it does not come back in saleable condition. Return is not included unless agreed in writing before you ship. We cannot accept prescription products or controlled substances.
- The claims are yoursWe script inside the approved claims list you send us and we film what is observable. You hold the evidence behind every claim, and we will flag anything that reads as a medicinal rather than a cosmetic claim before filming.
- What the licence does not allowNo resale or sub licensing to another brand, no separating Velena's image from the delivered video, and no using the content to train an artificial intelligence model or to generate a synthetic likeness. Those restrictions outlast the licence itself. Section 11.
- Send the brief within 60 daysTimelines run from the day your product reaches us, not the day you order. If a brief never arrives we send a reminder, and an order with no brief after 60 days is closed.

Bespoke
A full range, or an ongoing beauty retainer?
Some beauty briefs do not fit a package. A whole range shot in one session, a launch with a fixed press date, a monthly creative retainer feeding an ad account, or a rebrand where every SKU needs the same treatment. When that is the shape of it we scope the work rather than pushing you into the nearest tier.
Quotes are prepared individually. Send us the shape of the problem and we come back with scope, timings and a fixed figure, usually within one business day.
- Full range or collection shoots
- Launches with a fixed press date
- Monthly creative retainers for ad accounts
- Higher volume than three videos
- Ongoing content for subscription beauty boxes

Questions
Before you order
Three things that matter commercially. Standard carries a 12 month paid media licence on Meta, TikTok and Google where Basic is organic only. It includes a script written inside your cleared wording. And it delivers 2 openings and all three ratios instead of one cut in one format.
12 months from delivery, on Meta, TikTok and Google, at any spend. That is the same term Premium carries, so upgrading is never about buying more time. Premium removes the platform limit and hands over the raw footage.
You are, as the advertiser, which is exactly why the script is written from your approved claims list rather than from performance promises we invent. We flag any requested wording that reads as medicinal rather than cosmetic before filming, but the substantiation sits with the brand that holds the evidence.
Yes. Name the two angles in your brief and both are written to them inside your cleared wording. If you would rather they were proposed, both openings are sent for approval before anything is filmed and neither is a surprise at delivery.
No. A credible before and after needs two sessions under matched lighting with the real timeframe stated, so it is filmed at Premium. At this tier we can cover routine, problem to solution and honest review angles instead.
No. You receive the finished cut, both hooks and every ratio. The unedited takes sit on Premium and cannot be added after a shoot has been delivered, so it is worth deciding beforehand if an in house editor will want them.
That is whitelisting and it sits on Premium. It is a standing arrangement on the ad account rather than something attached to a single video, which is why it is a tier and not an add on.
7 working days from the day your product arrives at our High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire address, with the script approved before that clock starts. Both hooks and all ratios are delivered together.
Why it works
Standard in practice
Which product deserves the media budget
Put paid spend behind the SKU with margin and depth of stock, not the one you are proudest of. The second consideration is repurchase: a consumable bought again every six weeks earns from a twelve month licence several times over, where a limited edition earns from it once and then the creative is dead stock.
Writing two hooks that genuinely differ
Two openings that both start with the bottle are one hook filmed twice. Useful pairs contrast on the thing you are unsure about: concern against curiosity, spoken against silent, texture against face. When the numbers come back you learn which register your buyer responds to, which is worth far more than knowing that one of two near identical clips edged ahead.
What a twelve month term is actually for
Beauty creative rarely fails in week three. It fatigues in month four, and the useful question is what happens after that. A year covers the whole life of a creative: the test, the scale, the rebuild into a second angle, and the seasonal rerun when the same product sells again at Christmas. It also removes the calendar admin of tracking expiry dates across an ad account with forty live assets.
When Standard is not the right answer
If someone in house will keep cutting fresh adverts from the same shoot, the raw footage on Premium pays for itself quickly. If the plan includes Pinterest, Snapchat or programmatic display, Premium is the tier that licenses it. And if a whole routine needs covering rather than one product, the bundle is better value than three separate orders.
Want a second opinion before you order? Send the campaign, the launch date and the claims you can evidence and you will be told plainly which tier to buy, including when it is a cheaper one. Side by side pricing sits on the beauty and skincare UGC packages page.
