WooCommerce services

Add a shop to the WordPress site you already have

You have a site that works. You do not need it rebuilt, you need it to take money. We add WooCommerce to it, style the checkout so it looks like it always belonged, load up to 20 products, and hand it back.

What you get

Exactly what is included, and what is not

The whole point of a retrofit is that most of your site is left alone. That makes the boundary unusually important, because what we are not touching is most of what you own.

The honest bit

When a retrofit is the wrong answer

This is cheaper than a full build, which makes it tempting even when it is not the right choice. Three situations where we will tell you to buy the more expensive thing instead.

  • 01The theme cannot take it

Some themes fight WooCommerce, and forcing it produces a checkout that half works and breaks at the next update. We check before you pay, and if that is your situation we say so rather than taking the order and improvising.

  • 02The site is already struggling

Adding a shop to a slow, bloated site gives you a slow, bloated shop. If the audit would find serious problems, fixing those first is worth more than bolting a cart onto them.

  • 03You want it to look different anyway

If you are unhappy with the design, a retrofit preserves the thing you dislike. A Store Build costs more but you get the site you actually wanted.

Not sure which applies to you? Send us the URL and we will look at it and tell you, at no charge, before anything is bought.

Bigger catalogue

The maths is on the page, not behind a call

Same arithmetic as a new build. The extra is published so you can work out your own total before contacting anyone.

  • £1,950The retrofit, including the first 20 products
  • £150Each additional block of 10 products
  • You do the sumAdd the blocks you need. No discovery call to find out what it costs

Included

What the price covers

  • A shop that belongs to your siteShop, product and checkout pages styled against your existing design rather than the plugin's defaults. This is the difference between adding a shop and bolting one on.
  • Checkout that worksOne gateway and one shipping zone, configured and tested with real transactions before it goes live.
  • 20 products loadedCategorised, checked and live, from the content you supply.
  • The legal pages a shop needsReturns, delivery and shop terms added if your site does not already carry them.
  • Your existing site untouchedWe are adding capability, not taking the opportunity to redesign things you did not ask us to.
  • A handover you can useDocumentation on adding products and managing orders yourself, because most retrofit clients run the shop themselves afterwards.

The two boundaries

What a fixed price can and cannot absorb

Two things decide whether this stays a fixed price, so they are stated in full rather than buried in a scope document.

Checked first

Theme compatibility

Confirmed before you pay, free of charge. Send the URL and we will tell you honestly whether your theme will take a shop cleanly.

  • We look at the actual site, not a questionnaire
  • Answer given before any money moves
  • If it will not work, we say so
  • Page builder rebuilds are a Store Build, not this
Ends at launch

The snag window

30 days to report anything built wrong, fixed at no charge. It covers defects in what we built, not the site as a whole.

  • Build defects fixed free for 30 days
  • Not faults in your existing site
  • Not updates, backups or monitoring
  • Ongoing care is the Care plan, priced separately

How it works

Four stages, starting before you pay

  1. Compatibility checkSend your URL through the contact page. We reply within one business day with a straight answer on whether your theme will take a shop.
  2. Build on stagingThe shop is built on a copy of your site, so your live pages are never a work in progress.
  3. Revise1 consolidated round on the staging version, collected in one go.
  4. Go live and hand overPushed live, with a 30 day snag window and documentation for running the shop yourself.
Why we build on staging rather than your live siteAdding a shop touches templates, and doing that on a live site means your visitors watch it happen. Building on a copy costs us nothing extra and means the only thing your customers ever see is the finished version. If you do not have staging, we set one up as part of this.
This is a build, not a subscriptionThe shop is delivered, handed over and finished. If you want it looked after afterwards, that is the Care plan, priced separately and never bundled in silently. We manage a maximum of 10 stores, so ask early if you want it.

Every price in this range is published. Nothing is quoted privately that is sold publicly to someone else.

Questions

Before you order

Why it works

The retrofit in practice

Why most businesses do not need a rebuild

The instinct when adding a shop is to start again, and agencies rarely argue because a rebuild is a bigger invoice. But if your site already ranks, already converts and already looks the way you want, throwing it away means rebuilding trust with Google and with the people who know it. Adding commerce to what works is usually the lower risk and lower cost route, and it keeps the search history you have spent years accumulating.

What actually makes a bolted-on shop look bolted on

It is almost never the product pages, which most themes handle acceptably. It is the checkout, the account area and the basket: three screens that plugins render with their own defaults, and three screens where a visitor is deciding whether to trust you with card details. Styling those properly is unglamorous work and it is the single biggest reason a retrofitted shop feels like part of the site rather than a different website in a frame.

Why we check compatibility before taking money

Because the alternative is discovering it afterwards, and at that point somebody has to either absorb the cost or have an uncomfortable conversation. Looking at the site first takes us very little time and it means the fixed price on this page is one we can actually honour. When the answer is no, saying so costs us one sale and saves you a bad project.

Not sure whether you need this or a full build? Send us the URL and we will tell you plainly, including when the answer is the cheaper one.

Keep the site you have. Give it a checkout.
